2024 Jensen’s Ride

Who We Are

A Ride 4 A Reason is an assemblage of retired firefighters, friends, and families whose sole purpose it has become is to support firefighters in any way we can. We do this by riding motorcycles across the country to engage in conversation with firefighters and the public. We stop at fire stations, firefighter memorials, and other public gatherings to speak and raise awareness of the multiple hazards firefighters’ face in their day-to-day operations. Our hope is that these conversations will improve individual firefighter safety and their wellbeing for the length of their carriers.

This is where you can help. We are asking for people to donate to Orange County, CA Local 3631 Fallen Firefighters Relief Fund. A one of the 501-C3 firefighter foundation we support. Any size donation will help. All donations are tax deductible. A Ride 4 A Reason does not directly or indirectly receive any monies for our efforts. All donations are made directly to the foundation via their web-page, by means of our web-page.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire and assist firefighters, and their families, when they themselves need support.

We do in three ways:

One

By memorializing OCFA firefighters who have died in the line-of-duty.

Two

By remembering and supporting those firefighters who are suffering the ill effects of their occupation: cancer, PTSD, cardiac, stroke…

Three

By seeking donations for Local 3631 Fallen Firefighter Relief Fund to assist these and other firefighters and their families when they need financial assistance but are too proud to ask.

WHAT’S THE REASON FOR OUR RIDE IN 2024?

Jensen’s Ride

This years’ ride will pay special tribute to the late Jensen T. Hughes and many other firefighters who have lost their children while serving others. Jensen is a daughter to both Jeff and Robin Hughes and brother Jeremy. Jeff, a fellow rider and retired firefighter: Robin, the rider support leader.

Jensen sadly lost her life in mid-2023 in a bicycle accident.

Jensen was a beautiful young lady who, at a very young age, had traveled the world giving much encouragement and support to others.

During their grieving, the Fallen Firefighters Relief Fund, was there along side the entire Hughes family giving support.

Raising Awareness For Firefighter Occupational Cancer, Behavioral Health, and other Firefighter Health and Safety Issues.

Our mission is to safely ride the west coast of the United States raising awareness for firefighter occupational cancers and first responder mental health.

Case in Point… Regarding our Riders

This year we will be inspiring others by traveling to many historic locations in the American North West and Central North West where we will be remembering our friends daughter by helping the Hughes family spread her ashes at various locations from her well established “bucket list.”

Ride with Purpose:

A Journey for Firefighters' Health and Safety Awareness

Launched in 2021, A Ride 4 A Reason is more than just a journey—it's a dedicated mission. By joining us, you're not only embarking on an adventure but also supporting crucial initiatives for firefighter health and safety awareness. Each ride is dedicated to fundraising for select firefighter organizations that hold a special place in our hearts, aligning perfectly with the theme of our annual trips. Since its inception, riders have experienced unforgettable journeys, navigating through the picturesque landscapes of California, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, and Colorado. Along the way, they've paused at iconic landmarks, forged enduring connections, and bonded with fellow firefighter riders. Most importantly, they've raised vital awareness for the causes we believe in. Let's ride together safely, sharing the unique brotherhood and camaraderie that defines us, while continuing to raise awareness and funds for the Fallen Firefighter Relief Fund. Get ready to make a difference! #ar4ar #FFRF
